Nenio is a great crowd controller with some buffs as well. They play different roles but both are among the strongest party members. Maybe even the top 2. Aside from Nenio being able to pull great DC, one of the best things about her is the level 10 Scroll Savant ability where you cast from scrolls using your own caster level and DC.

Nenio shouldn't get taken out of your party at any point (well, until after the boss where she leaves unless you can convince her to rejoin your party). As for the extra spell secret - if implemented in accordance with Pathfinder rules, you'd have one secret for any 1st level spell and another for any 2nd level spell - so nothing to really rock your world, there.
